About us

State Bank of Patiala Other Backward Classes (OBCs) Welfare Association was founded on 16/11/2014 at Patiala under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Jas Pal Singh Rao (Founder President) and Sh. Mukesh Kumar Saini (Founder General Secretary). The idea/need for formation of a welfare association for the OBC employees of State Bank of Patiala came/felt from the sad demise (Suicide)of our beloved colleague Sh. Sohan Lal ( 19/06/1987- 23/03/2015). Prior this, there was no any organization, platform or mechanism to resolve the grievances of OBC Employees in the State Bank group banks. This is still prevalent in the banking Industry. This website is formed for the welfare of OBCs Officer's/Workmen's and is dedicated toLATE COMRADE SHRI SOHAN LAL JI.

After the takeover of State Bank of Patiala by State Bank of India w.e.f. 01.04.2017, it was resolved by the general body in the annual general meeting held on 27/05/2017 to re-name the existing welfare association as “State Bank of India OBCs Employees Welfare Association- Chandigarh Circle”. Though OBC Welfare Association was registered as a Unitary Organization, with it’s Registered Office at Patiala, it is virtually a defacto association in its functioning. The responsiveness to the national and social cause while working for the social justice and resolution of grievances of our members has been the hallmark of functioning of our association. It is an apolitical and independent Welfare Association, led by serving Bank Officer/workmen’s only.
